The creation of this department was born out of the zeal of the medical professionals in the church to voluntarily use their talent to serve God (Jeremiah 8:22). Although medical science is a gift from God, healing is the absolute work of God, we provide care. “…for I am the LORD that healeth thee”. Exodus 15:26(b).
“But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”. Isaiah 53:5 (KJV). The activities of the department are to attend to minor injuries, resuscitate and give first aid treatment to serious cases before sending them to hospital for adequate and complete management.
Other services include free blood glucose test and blood pressure checks to members of the church.
From time to time, the welfare department of the church provides foodstuff, clothing and occasionally shelter for the widows as well as the needy in the church.
The department opens only on church service days and special church programmes with a visiting doctor who consults every Tuesday from 12noon to 2pm. Drugs and equipment are provided by the church and donations from church members also. We appreciate all contributions to this department and if the Lord lays in your heart to contribute, do not hesitate to do so. God bless you.
